Goodbyes are always difficult and if it's possible, I'd choose not to say goodbye forever but there will always come a point in our lives that we have to move forward. Sadly, not everything or everyone can come along with us.
We have known from the beginning that we weren't meant for forever. We weren't even meant for now. But we tried "us" anyway and we were happy until we weren't anymore. Or at least, I wasn't happy anymore. There was something that I want and that was something you will never be able to give me, even if you wanted to and no matter how you tried. And even if you find a way to, I will never ever let you...because I loved you. I could never ever do that to you.
I wish we can rewind to 2012, when everything was right. Back then, everything was easy. We went on adventures and we spend the entire day just being goofy. You loved me so much and I you. I would have never ever thought that this day will come. I've always known it will but it just never occurred to me that it will happen so soon. I forgot what made us so wrong for each other and that time, I would've gladly have amnesia just to make us work.
I will miss everything about you. The way you bite your lip when you're nervous. How your eyes light up when you see me. How big your smile is. The way you say "Love mo ga ako?" How you're always excited about things. Your scruffy beard. How secure I feel when you wrap your big arms around me.I will miss how it's your job to prepare the kalamansi - soy sauce concoction for my bowl of piping hot lomi. I'll miss you criticizing how dirty my car is all the time. How you insist to hold my hand when I'm pissed at you. Every time you ask me if there are new good movies for download. I'll miss you asking me for my opinion on every trivial thing. The way you smell and how your scent sticks to me after we've met. I will miss the warmth of your embrace and the sweet taste of your lips. Most of all, I will miss you and how you loved me.
Just know I don't regret being yours and I hope you also don't regret that once upon a time, you had me. Because I was truly and undeniably completely yours. I loved you so much and it hurts to leave you. But it's time.
I urge you to forget me but if you must remember, think of me fondly. Think of the good times. Because I surely will. I will always cherish the moments that we had. I often wish we had more.
